Modern music has never been more accessible. However, this ease of access can often overshadow and dilute the rich contributions local artists provide to their communities.

"Carrboro Jukebox" is an immersive visualizer spotlighting the vibrant and diverse indie music scene of Carrboro, North Carolina by combining editorial portrait photography with music using the open-source Godot engine. Viewers can access Spotify codes of all featured tracks.

Over eight days, six bands were photographed at various locations across the Research Triangle. Genres cover a wide spectrum, including feminist folk, rock n' roll, alt rock, garage punk, acoustic, jam band, electronic, and psychadelic doom metal. Carrboro Jukebox invites audiences to open their ears to these indie talents, and celebrates the diversity and creativity of local artists whose stories are waiting to be heard.
